Operation Paperclip: the secret CIA program that brought more than 1,600 German Nazi scientists and engineers to work with the United States government, during and after World War II. The Germans did in fact provide new civilian industries, products, and jobs through their many assets. Initially, the US captured warfare instruments and plans, such as arsenal and bombs. In a race against the Soviet Union for better assets, the government followed and recruited the top Nazi soldiers to work in the states. However, the Nazis were known for other vile occurrences during the concentration camp period, mainly consisting of surgeries and mutilations to construct ‘the perfect race’. While people now know this meant experimenting with twins to find the perfect blue-eyed blonde-haired person, many of these atrocities included sterilization, amputation, and mimicking of morbid warfare situations to test innovative solutions. The public may never know what information and experiments the CIA developed from their arrival in the early 1940s to the late 50s.

MK Ultra was carried out and formed during the early 50s as well. During the dawn of the Cold War, the government used both their own knowledge as well as possibly those of the German surgeons. Although the CIA attempted to destroy traces of this once fabled tale, it no longer denies that the experiments took place. The purpose of MK Ultra, as stated by the Justice Department on behalf of the CIA, was to be a “research and development of chemical, biological, and radiological materials in clandestine operations to control human behaviors.” The victims were put to sleep for weeks and using torture as well as psychoactive chemicals, US Intelligence looked for any way to release someone from self-control in order to obtain personal information. MK Ultra pertained to physical, psychological, and sexual abuse that left people emotionally crippled for life. Unwilling participants were provided with drugs such as LSD, and some attempted suicide because of it by burning, hanging, and gnawing an arm off. The Stargate Project established in 1978 was another attempt by the Defense Intelligence Agency to investigate and experiment human potential, more specifically with the psychic phenomena. This project, alone, was funded with 20 million tax dollars towards 'research,' and was later allegedly dismantled in 1991. As documents remain unseen to the public eye or even destroyed, who's to say the experiments stopped?
